Reflection of trip
The photography field trip to UT Austin showed me that the history of photography is very short compared to other forms of art. I also learned the many forms photography has taken through its brief history. It made me appreciate this art form more like a form of expression than just images.

Paul strand takes pictures of normal people and shows there current emotion. In this picture the boy seems to be frustrated about something. From what i see this boy lives on a farm or rural area and has to work day by day to maintain his way of living. He seems to wish for a better life where he doesn't have to work long hours.

Reflection on Diane Arbus
What i got from the video is that Diane Arbus did not that pictures like those before her.She photographed the ill, ugly, freaks , and those who are not important to nobody. What she liked was the meaning behind the subject of the photograph. In this image a man or woman seems to have something to say. That her/his opinion mattered but nobody wanted to here.Just waiting for somebody to hear what he/she has to say.

Camera exposure
Something that i have learned from the website is that "Shutter speed" and "exposure time" refer to the same concept, where a faster shutter speed means a shorter exposure time. That they determine how much light will be allowed into camera. This helps by freezing motion to get a better photo.

Mary Ellen Mark , ( march 20 ,1940) has a close interaction between her and the subject of the photo. How close she is shows the emotion that the person or objects portrays at that moment. In this photograph the struggle that is lived on a daily basis in a bad neighborhood is showed by the melancholy face of the youngest of the two. The other is holding a gun putting in his jacket stating that even to step out the door he needs some form of security. This image shows the daily struggle of life in the hood in any country in this world. That daily life is their struggle and their striving to survive it.

Without color this image sends a deeper message of how difficult a situation may be there is some possibility you will succeed. The tree seems to show its struggle growing from a rock bed , the way its twisted and almost tipping over . Depth of field shows how remote and barren the landscape is , and against all odds how a lonely tree defeated all the obstacles put in front of it.
This image to me portrays to me how someone can be stuck in time or in a certain point in his/her life and the people around don't seem to notice and this is captured by shutter speed. Its amazing how a man made object can capture in an image of something beyond our comprehension. He is just standing there seeing but not observing what happens around him while the rest pass a man in a deep sense of self discovery so he can proceed with his own life.
